also a couple of asides: 1. i dont think the bhagvad gita technically counts as an epic
2. in terms of context in a story theres probably nothing more incongruous than the bhagvad gita .. i mean the guy is in a battlefield and he gets a long discourse putting all sorts of fundas on life (clearly if the enemy was reasonably smart he would be quick to pounce on the opportunity to kill you as quickly as possible while you are keenly listening to a discourse)
dude u miusread the BG.. its not some arbit funda-putting session on life plus in those old days only after the C-in-Cs on both sides said Begin arnd 9am they started - war was a bloody day in the office(i love this statement :D).. basiucally the dude Krishna is trying to convince Arjuna and has to use all kinds of fundas to make him fight - its like, to convince elec junta to take Ant's PoE exams, u need to answer junta's questions on the essential meaning of life and all that!
