when does a conversation officially end .. there are not enough protocols.. connection closes need to be explicit. timeouts dont work in the real world
seriously man that has been a big problem for me.. usually conversations for me end when the other person says 'ok so im leaving' or worse, when they just walk out on me :)
svr: bye/cya/synonymns seem 1. contrived 2. too much effort to officially close communication 3. not sure if they serve to terminate the conversation .. just seem like temporary disconnects
Okay, 1. & 2. are like opinions I can't really answer :) It's a signalling mechanism. if you don't want a time-out, don't you need signals? Is there an alternative?
3. Well, by that definition (argument?), NO conversation is ever closed, then? Or needs to be closed? You can always pick up the thread to add something later.
