suppose you agree that the best answer is one that makes the questioner refrain from asking further questions.. then ur answer is sub-optimal since it will immediately inspire the original questioner to ask you to list out the dependencies .. whereas "i dont know" will make the questioner shut up and go away

"well...it depends..."

what if he asks "why not?" u can never make an inquisitive enough questioner stop with his questions.
